About the Event

In today’s professional environments, systemic racism, anti-Blackness, and microaggressions create significant barriers for Black & POC professionals. This three-part presentation series, "Surviving DEI: Belonging, Being, and Becoming”, explores how we can navigate and thrive in these challenging spaces by understanding and applying insights from the Enneagram’s Nine Domains.


Through this series, we will examine the key aspects of Belonging, Being, and Becoming, equipping participants with tools to reflect on their experiences and reclaim their sense of agency, community, and authenticity.

Presentation 1: Belonging – Exploring Identity, Fear, and Security in the Workplace


Purpose:

To explore how Black & POC professionals can reclaim their sense of belonging in work environments marked by exclusion and bias. We focus on the assault to our Center of Intelligence

Goals:

  • Understand how the Enneagram Domains—focused on objectivity, trust, and freedom—impact our sense of belonging.

  • Develop strategies to create safety, security, and connectedness in professional spaces.

Outcomes:

  • Participants will gain insight into building trust and mutual support while maintaining their personal boundaries.

  • Attendees will reflect on how to foster belonging for themselves and their communities.

Presentation 2: Being – Claiming the Right to Exist and Take Up Space

Purpose:

To affirm the right of Black & POC professionals to take up space and exist fully in environments that often diminish their presence. We focus on the impact on our physical health.

Goals:

  • Explore how Enneagram Domains—centered on agency, stability, and truth—support the right to be and act.

  • Learn ways to reclaim personal agency and lead with confidence.

Outcomes:

  • Participants will leave with tools for asserting their worth and navigating environments that challenge their existence.

  • Attendees will feel empowered to claim space and lead with clarity and decisiveness.

Presentation 3: Becoming – The Journey to Authenticity in a Racialized World

Purpose:To guide Black & POC professionals on the journey toward authentic self-expression and growth, even in the face of systemic barriers. We focus on our emotional health and sense of identity.

Goals:

  • Understand how Enneagram Domain—focused on connectedness, personal excellence, and self-expression—contribute to our journey of becoming.

  • Cultivate personal growth and authenticity, embracing one’s uniqueness while fostering community.

Outcomes:

  • Participants will gain clarity on how to express their authentic selves while maintaining meaningful connections.

  • Attendees will develop strategies for pursuing excellence and self-awareness despite external challenges.
